Pasta is food with a low glycemic index (GI under 50). Glycemic index indicates the speed of digestion and absorption of ingredients that are rich in carbohydrates. GI is between 0 and 100 and according to this, the ingredients are sorted based on how the consumption of certain foods influence the raised level of blood sugar in comparison with a referent food which is glucose with GI = 100. A higher GI denotes a stronger sugar level within the blood.
